Ear Piercings

Ear Lobe (including children)

Ear Lobe Portfolio

Information

Ear lobe piercings are among the easiest and most comfortable piercings to get. They’re typically low in pain and generally heal with minimal fuss if adequately cared for. While we usually pierce both lobes as a pair, you can opt for just one or create a custom combination that suits your style.

The higher up the lobe you go, the longer the healing process may take, due to the proximity of nearby cartilage and reduced circulation. You’re always welcome to drop by the studio or book a complimentary consultation—our team can help you find the safest and best placement for your earlobe piercings.

We also offer higher gauge (thicker) lobe piercings, which are just as easy to heal. We can usually start with sizes up to 6mm without issues. We highly recommend scheduling a consultation to discuss sizes and options.

We’re proud to offer ear lobe piercings for children and anyone who can provide informed consent. Our professional team is experienced in creating a calm, welcoming environment to ensure the experience is safe, respectful, and stress-free.

Ear rim/Helix

Helix Portfolio

Information

Helix piercings are one of the most popular piercings and can be done singularly or in multiples. Rings can be comfortably worn once healed and can accommodate different types of jewellery – including clusters, chains, and rings!

Although very common, cartilage piercings require more care than ear lobes, and improper care during the healing process can result in complications if the piercing becomes irritated.

Sleeping on the piercing isn’t recommended while healing, as it will drastically reduce your success rate, as well as increase your chance of scarring. Because of this, we will not perform a cartilage piercing on your ear if you have a piercing healing on the opposite side.

Inner Conch

Inner Conch Portfolio

Information

The inner conch is more protected by the surrounding cartilage folds and can therefore sustain a much taller and more elaborate piece.

Although rings can be worn once fully healed, we recommend waiting a minimum of 12 to 18 months to ensure they’re comfortable.

Sleeping on the piercing isn’t recommended while healing, as it will drastically reduce your success rate, as well as increase your chance of scarring. Because of this, we will not perform a cartilage piercing on your ear if you have a piercing healing on the opposite side.

Daith

Daith Portfolio

Information

Contrary to social media hype, they have not been proven to help or cure migraines/headaches – they do, however, look awesome and are a great way to fill up a large part of your ear with only one piercing.

Daith piercings are anatomically located, so not everyone can get them done. Please book a consultation with one of our practitioners if you are interested in this piercing.

Headphones/earbuds and stethoscopes also can not be used on that ear for the entire healing period.

Sleeping on the piercing isn’t recommended while healing, as it will drastically reduce your success rate, as well as increase your chance of scarring. Because of this, we will not perform a cartilage piercing on your ear if you have a piercing healing on the opposite side.

Tragus

Tragus Portfolio

Information

The tragus is a small pointed protrusion of ear cartilage that is attached more to the side of your face, rather than your actual ear. Tragus piercings are one of the more common ear piercings, but they do require appropriate anatomy. They are a little pinchy, but not generally too painful or throbby to get done.

Sleeping on the piercing isn’t recommended while healing, as it will drastically reduce your success rate, as well as increase your chance of scarring. Because of this, we will not perform a cartilage piercing on your ear if you have a piercing healing on the opposite side.

Headphones/earbuds and stethoscopes also can not be used on that ear for the entire healing period.

Snonch

Snonch Portfolio

Information

The term ‘Snonch’ is lovingly coined by the unique placement of this piercing, as the snonch lies directly between the conch and snug area. Although many people have this structure, not all are suited for the piercing due to low clearances behind the ear.

Low-profile jewellery is recommended for this piercing, preferably flat to match the ear’s anatomy.

Sleeping on the piercing isn’t recommended during the healing process, as it can drastically reduce your success rate and increase the likelihood of scarring. Because of this, we will not perform a cartilage piercing on your ear if you have a piercing healing on the opposite side.

Forward Helix

Forward Helix Portfolio

Information

The Forward Helix (affectionately called ‘Felix’) piercings are a fun little decoration for your ear and can be done in singles, pairs or sometimes even multiples! Remember that not everyone is anatomically suited for these, so a consultation is required before getting your heart set on a particular look.

Sleeping on the piercing isn’t recommended while healing, as it will drastically reduce your success rate, as well as increase your chance of scarring. Because of this, we will not perform a cartilage piercing on your ear if you have a piercing healing on the opposite side.

Rook

Rook Portfolio

Information

Rooks are a discreet and fun piercing, positioned just above the forward helix. They are pierced vertically and can have curved bars or rings once the piercing has healed.

Rooks are anatomically dependent, so we do require a consultation to assess whether a rook piercing will heal successfully on your ear.

Sleeping on the piercing isn’t recommended while healing, as it will drastically reduce your success rate, as well as increase your chance of scarring. Because of this, we will not perform a cartilage piercing on your ear if you have a piercing healing on the opposite side.

Flat (Outer Conch)

Flat Portfolio

Information

Due to the unique placement and healing requirements of this piercing, we require a consultation with one of our practitioners to determine if the piercing is suitable for your anatomy.

The outer conch lacks protection from surrounding skin and therefore should be initially pierced with low-profile jewellery that will sit flat to your anatomy. They require regular check-ups with your practitioner to ensure appropriate healing.

Sleeping on the piercing isn’t recommended during the healing process, as it can drastically reduce your success rate and increase the likelihood of scarring. Because of this, we will not perform a cartilage piercing on your ear if you have a piercing healing on the opposite side.
