Ear Piercings

Helix piercings are one of the most popular piercings and can be done singularly or in multiples. Rings can be comfortably worn, once healed, and can accommodate different types of jewellery – including clusters, chains and rings!

Although very common, cartilage piercings take a lot more care than ear lobes and healing can result in complications if the piercing is irritated during the healing from improper care.

Although inner and outer conches are similar in name, they are very different to heal and often require different jewellery.

The inner conch is more protected by the surrounding cartilage folds, and therefore can sustain a much taller and elaborate piece.

Although rings can be worn once fully healed, we recommend waiting a minimum of 12-18 months to ensure it’s comfort and longevity.

Contrary to social-media hype, they have not been proven in anyway to help or cure migraines/headaches – they do however look awesome and are a GREAT way to fill up a large part of your ear with only one easy to get piercing.

The tragus is a small pointed protrusion of ear cartilage which is attached more to the side of your face, rather than your actual ear. Tragus piercings are one of the more common ear piercings, but do require appropriate anatomy. They are a little pinchy, but not generally too painful or throbby to get done.

The term ‘Snonch’ is lovingly coined by the unique placement of this piercing, as the snonch lies directly between the conch and snug area. Although many people have this structure, not all are suited for the piercing due to low clearances behind the ear.

Low-profile jewellery is recommended for this piercing, preferably flat to match the ear’s anatomy.

The Forward Helix (affectionately called ‘Felix’) piercings are a fun little decoration for your ear and can be done in singles, pairs or sometimes even multiples! Remember that not everybody is anatomically structured for these, so a consultation is required before getting your heart set on a look.

Rooks are a sneaky and fun piercing, tucked up next to the forward helix. They are pierced vertically, and can have curved bars or rings in once healed.

Rooks are anatomically dependent, so we do require a consultation to assess whether a rook piercing will heal successfully on your ear.

The outer conch lacks protection from surrounding skin and therefore should be initially pierced with low profile jewellery that will sit flat to your anatomy. They require regular check-ups with your practitioner, to ensure appropriate healing.
