Lower Lip

Lips are quite a common piercing, mostly because they are easy to have done and generally heal very quickly. They always require a downsize during the healing period, as the initial jewellery needs extra length to allow for a swelling.

They are often done in pairs, either symmetrically or asymmetrically to give a unique look! Although rings can be worn once healed, a flat back labret post is required for safe and comfortable healing.

Care has to be taken to avoid playing with the piercing during the healing period, to avoid irritation and excessive scar tissue.

It is important to note that any oral piercing can cause tooth and gum damage. Your practitioner will discuss ideal placement, jewellery options and aftercare to minimise this risk.
